BEIJING, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- China and Vietnam plan to work more closely to prevent the kidnapping and selling women and children, said Chinese Minister of Public Security Zhou Yongkang.

Zhou, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, made the remarks in his talks Thursday with visiting Vietnamese Minister of Public Security Le Hong Anh in Beijing.

Zhou also highlighted that the bilateral collaboration in the field should serve the development of the bilateral ties, friendship between the two peoples and stability of borders between the two countries.

Zhou, who is also a Chinese state councilor, spoke positively of the current development of bilateral relations, expressing his willingness to continue to push forward bilateral cooperation on the public security matters.

Agreeing with Zhou's views on the bilateral relations and cooperation against cross-border crimes, Anh said that Vietnam attaches great importance to the cooperative and friendly ties with China and is fully committed to the cooperation on the campaign against crimes and maintenance of social security.

This includes more cooperation to stop illegal immigration and drug trafficking.

After the talks, Zhou and his Vietnamese counterpart also signed a meeting summary with aim to further cooperation between the two ministries.
