chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political
Consultative Conference, China's top political advisory body, on Wednesday met
with a friendship delegation of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea
(DPRK).
The delegation was led by Ri Yong Dok, deputy
chairman of the central committee of the DPRK-China Friendship Association.
The delegation's visit comes when China and the DPRK
are holding commemorations to mark the anniversary of a friendship treaty. The
delegation has attended the commemorations in Beijing.
Tuesday coincides with the 45th anniversary of the
signing of the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between
