BEIJING, March 10 (Xinhuanet) -- An institution is being set up to deal with commercial bribery and other illicit economic activities in the Chinese capital, a senior municipal official has said.

    The organ, to be led by a deputy mayor of Beijing, will investigate in land requisition, construction projects, health care, government purchase and some other sectors, according to Qiang Wei, deputy secretary of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Chinese Communist Party.

    Joining hands with municipal departments in charge of industry and commerce, tax, health care, finance, construction, as well as procuratorates and courts, the institution will particularly probe in bribery activities among civil servants, Qiang, also a deputy to the National People's Congress, said on the sidelines of the legislature's ongoing annual session.

    Legal actions will be imposed on those who are convicted of illegal deals, corruption or any form of economic crimes, the official pledged. Enditem
