BEIJING, March 2 (Xinhuanet) -- China has ordered the
immediate start of a nationwide campaign against commercial bribery in a bid to
create a clean government and a healthy business environment.
He Yong, head of the Central Leadership Group on
Tackling Commercial Bribery, said on Thursday that all economic sectors should
examine themselves and rectify any problems over the next six to 12 months.
He, who is also member of the Secretariat of the
Communist Party of China Central Committee, said the campaign will identify
institutions, positions, people and funds involved in practices that go against
fair competition and will put forward plans to root out such practices.
Major cases identified during the campaign must be
dealt with according to the law and exposed in the media, he said, adding that
civil servants involved must be published severely.
The campaign will not be complete without identifying
the root cause of commercial bribery and building of new rules to prevent it
happening from the very beginning, said He.
The crackdown on commercial bribery shall also be
combined with the pursuing of reforms in executive licensing, fiscal systems,
financial regulations as well as management of government investment and state
assets, he said. Enditem |
